What are task-specific roles?

There are additional task-specific roles in ARIS. The most important roles and their definition are listed in the following:

Enterprise Architecture Management

  • System manager (IT systems)

    Lifecycle manager from the relevant department. Responsible for the planning, development, and further development of the application over its entire lifecycle. The application system manager is the contact person for application developers and application support staff, and supports them.

  • Architecture manager

    Responsible for further strategic development of the architecture framework, for consolidating standards and system inventory, and for specifying their design.

  • IT architect

    Responsible for further operational development of the architecture framework based on the strategic context provided, for maintenance of the architecture set, and for further development and approval of IT standards.

  • IT landscape planner

    IT landscape planners record and maintain the as-is process support map of systems in relation to the supported business processes and derive a to-be process support map from this.

  • Process manager

    This role represents company staff working in the area of Business Process Management (BPM). Staff members may be process managers in the specialist departments, process modelers, or employees of process management competence centers of central IT.

Process Governance

The Process Governance administrator manages the executable processes:

  • Deploy executable process.

  • Start governance processes in Process administration Process administration, for example, older versions of the process.

  • Deactivate executable processes.

  • Restart failed activities or reset and restart failed Web service activities.

  • Suspend/resume the execution of process instances.

  • Terminate the execution of process instances if, for example, the executable process is no longer relevant.

  • Use the process instance archive to improve performance.

  • Configure recurrences for an executable process.

  • Suspend/resume the recurrence of an executable process.

  • Suspend the recurrence of an executable process

  • Resolve error in process.

  • View all tasks of other users in My tasks.

  • Check Process Governance charts.

Warning

To avoid data inconsistencies and possible data loss, you must not perform any of the following activities in parallel, neither manually nor scheduled:

- Deleting any Process Governance process instance, process version, or process

- Archiving Process Governance process instances

  • - Backup/restore tenant (containing Process Governance or ARIS document storage data)
