Back up databases
Back up your databases before making fundamental changes.
Errors may occur with large backup files (ADB) and during database recovery. If errors occur during backup or while restoring, use the backup mechanism in your database management system (DBMS). Make sure that sufficient disk space is available for restoring large databases. This may exceed the memory requirements stated in the document ARIS System Requirements.
Prerequisite
You have read the security advice.
You meet one of the following conditions:
You have the Database backup function privilege for this database.
Your user account has been assigned the Database administrator function privilege in ARIS Administration.
If you do not have the required privilege, log in as a system user.
Click ARIS >
Explorer. The Explorer tab opens.Click
Navigation in the bar panel if the Navigation bar is not activated yet.In the navigation, right-click the name of the database to be backed up, and select
Backup. The Back up database dialog opens.Specify the relevant settings and click OK.
The database is saved in the selected folder under the specified file name with the file extension adb.
You can restore backup copies of databases on any tenant and thus restore the database to its state before these changes were made.
If an unauthorized user restores a backup file that was not encrypted, they have full access to the entire content of the database. To increase data security, please use encrypted backups.
