Which file format is used to exchange ArchiMate® data?
The ArchiMate® Model Exchange File Format (AMEFF), a standard from The Open Group, enables the exchange of ArchiMate® content between tools that support it. ARIS supports importing and exporting ArchiMate® content in AMEFF format when using ArchiMate® 3.x models.
When exporting ArchiMate® content, you can choose either ArchiMate® 2.1 or 3.x as the target format.
Note: Although ARIS still supports modeling in ArchiMate® 2.1, AMEFF-based import and export is only available when using ArchiMate® 3.0 or later. This means that the import creates models of type ArchiMate® 3.x and derived types. Export is only supported for models of type ArchiMate® 3.x and derived types.
