Process Governance users and user groups
When you generate an executable process, the users and user groups that are modeled in the assigned organizational charts are created automatically in ARIS Administration. If additional users and user groups are created in ARIS Administration but do not exist in the organizational charts, they cannot be referenced from the process. In addition, all of the data and assignments that differ from the organizational charts are removed from ARIS Administration when the executable process is generated or the organizational chart is updated.
We recommend that you model the users and user groups in organizational charts and use ARIS Administration to assign users only the function and license privileges that are relevant to Process Governance.
Consider assignments from user management
Enable the attribute Consider user group association from user management (object type Role, attribute type group Process automation) so that user group associations created manually in ARIS Administration are considered even if they are not contained in the organizational chart. If the attribute is not enabled, only role assignments from the organizational chart are considered. This means that role assignments created manually in ARIS Administration are removed from ARIS Administration the next time the executable process is generated or the organizational chart is updated. The same applies to the attribute Consider Process Governance administrator privilege assignment (object type Person, attribute type group Process automation).
LDAP system
If you use an LDAP system for user management, we recommend that you model only the user groups and organizational structure in the organizational charts because the users from the LDAP system are used for the corresponding user groups.
Relevant license privileges
The number of active users who participate in an executable process may differ from the total number of ARIS users. Users who are to have access to the functions of Process Governance must be assigned the ARIS Architect and Process Governance license privilege in ARIS Administration.
