Mandatory semantic checks macro

This macro calls a predefined semantic check profile that checks all rules assigned to this profile. The rules to be checked can be specified. You can add all rules to be checked for your process to the profile that this macro calls. This is how you obtain an individual semantic check that you can use to check your models.

If an error is found in a model/object, the error is described in a report. For each checked model/object, the attributes Time of last semantic check and Semantic check successful (attribute type group Process automation) are specified. If no error is found or if the model/object cannot be checked because the rule cannot be applied to the model/object the attribute Semantic check successful is activated. If an error is found in a model/object the attribute is deactivated.

This attribute is extracted in an approval procedure. If it is activated, the Process Governance process continues because the model/object is properly modeled according to mandatory semantic checks. If the attribute is deactivated, the Process Governance process is terminated and the modeler must first correct the relevant models.

Step 1: Enable the 'Available to users' attribute

For these predefined macros, the Available to users attribute is disabled by default. Enable this attribute to make a macro available.

Prerequisite

You are the script administrator for this tenant.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. In ARIS Architect, click ARIS > Show Administration Administration.

  2. Click Show evaluations Evaluations > Macros > Automation in the Navigation bar. The available macros are displayed in the detail view.

  3. Right-click Mandatory semantic checks and click Properties. The Properties dialog opens.

  4. Enable the Available to users check box in the Release row.

  5. Click OK.

The macro is available and can be run for a model via Evaluate > Start macro Start macro (Automation category).

Step 2: Select relevant rules

Add the relevant rules to the Mandatory semantic checks profile.

  1. In ARIS Architect, click ARIS > Show Administration Administration.

  2. Click Show evaluations Evaluations > Semantic checks > Profiles in the Navigation bar.

  3. Right-click Mandatory semantic checks and click Properties. The Properties dialog opens.

  4. In the Select rules step, open the relevant rule profile and enable the check boxes for the rules to be checked.

  5. Click Finish.

The activated rules are checked when running the Mandatory semantic checks macro.

Step 3: Start macro

Procedure. Procedure

  1. Right-click the model/object for which you want to run the macro, and select Evaluate > Start macro Start macro. The Macro Wizard opens.

  2. Select the Automation category and the Mandatory semantic checks macro.

  3. Specify the relevant settings and click Finish.

If errors are found for a model/object, they are output in the report so that they can be corrected.
