EAM as part of IT management

IT processes are typically divided into three phases: planning, implementation, and operation (Plan, Build, and Run). The individual phases are shown in the following model. The relevant processes whose most important relationships are visualized reside within the phases. Enterprise Architecture Management focuses on processes and the following topics:

  • IT architecture management

  • IT landscape planning

  • IT portfolio management

  • Reference to business process management (business process analysis and design)

  • Reference to program and project management (IT project management)

  • Reference to requirements management

In addition to the descriptions and examples for the individual topic blocks, methodical information on the model, connection, and object types used, and their IT-specific attributes are described. These conventions are included as tables in the related chapters.
