Procedure. Procedure
  1. In ARIS Architect, click ARIS > Explorer Explorer.

  2. Log in to the database managing the desired SAP content.

  3. Start SAP®synchronization. The Synchronization Wizard opens.

  4. On the Select options wizard page, enable the requtred Transfer data to ARIS option or Transfer data to SAP ® Solution Manager option.

  5. Navigate to the Transfer structural elements wizard page.

  6. Enable the Transfer names and Transfer formatted description check boxes.

  7. If required, specify additional settings and click Finish.

The synchronization starts. Descriptions of structural elements, interfaces, documents, and diagrams are displayed as formatted text.

If you transfer data to ARIS, descriptions are transferred to the Description/Definition (AT_DESC) ARIS attribute. If descriptions are formatted in the SAP system, the same formatting is used in ARIS.

If you transfer data to SAP® Solution Manager and descriptions in ARIS are formatted in a way that SAP does not support, only the supported formats are used in the SAP system. This may lead to confusion if you use plain text in ARIS in a large font size, the text is displayed in the SAP system with H1 to H3.

If you transfer formatted attributes form ARIS to the SAP system, the same formatting is used. The character (size) is used to match H1 - H3:

  • Font size 24 and larger is mapped to H1

  • Font size 18 to Size 23 is mapped to H2

  • Font size 14 to Size 17 is mapped to H3

  • If the font size is smaller than 14, plain text is used in the SAP system.
